Valve’s direction to Linux…are the quoted reasons enough?

Found this article today, totally random. I had gone into this blog to check something out and saw this blog post which I immediately found interesting.

It’s mainly a “My thoughts on” kind of piece on the “recent” quotes of Gabe Newell on Windows 8 being a catastrophe and Linux the salvation etc.

Initially, I thought to myself finally,Linux is being recognised(given attention) and it’s about time for AAA games to be released on it and we have MS to thank for that. The take the blogger had on the subject was very interesting saying this is basically a one way route for Valve since MS is trying to control the market it supports, which means that effectively Steam is redundant and not something on the MS whitelist of things to approve.

I won’t say anything more since the actual piece is well written by itself so do yourself a favour and read it.

Not that it’s the one and only truth but it does paint an interesting and rather believable picture which considering the scale of it’s participants is very much possible.
